• Iconic woodland pasture trees featured in Kentucky Museum exhibit: The Kentucky Museum is hosting Salient Features: Trees of Old Forests and Woodland Pastures through December 1. As part of this fall’s exhibit offerings from the museum, this special exhibit focuses on celebrating the living world around us through the eyes of Kentucky-based artist Charles Brindley. An opening reception will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 7.
• View from the Hill: Students at the heart of WKU's Strategic Plan: A Comprehensive Advising Program is one of the biggest headlines to come out of WKU’s Climbing to Greater Heights Strategic Plan recently unveiled for the first time. WKU's Amy Bingham has more on what the plan means to the university and the process by which it was created in the View from the Hill.
• WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU's Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

WKU Sports

• Football: WKU at Wisconsin Tonight: WKU opens its 100^th season of football tonight against No. 4 Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast by ESPN and the Hilltopper IMG Sports Network.
• Volleyball: WKU Headed to St. Louis for Marcia E. Hamilton Classic: Following a successful home-opening win over Belmont, WKU Volleyball is set to hit the road again with Saint Louis' Marcia E. Hamilton Classic on deck. The Lady Toppers (2-2) are set to open weekend play against the host Billikens tonight on ESPN+ before facing off against Marquette and Kansas State on Saturday. • Soccer: Lady Toppers Continue Homestand Against Lipscomb This Evening: WKU Soccer will continue its three-match homestand as the Lady Toppers welcome Lipscomb to the WKU Soccer Complex tonight at 6 to close out the month of August on the pitch. Tonight's match, like all home matches during the 2018 campaign, will feature free admission for all fans at the Soccer Complex.
• Cross Country: WKU Squads Headed to Belmont to Kick Off 2018 Season: A young WKU Cross Country unit is set to open its 2018 season on the road in Nashville today. Action from the Belmont Opener is slated for a 5 p.m. CT, gun for the women's 5K race and a 5:30 p.m. start for the men's 5K. Percy Warner Park – Vaughn's Creek Cross Country Course will serve as the venue for the season-opening outing.
• Football: Countdown to Kickoff – 100 Days of Hilltopper History: WKU Football will kick off its 100th season tonight, and WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique and interesting history of Hilltopper Football. More: Clear Bag Policy; photos from fall camp
• Men’s basketball: Countdown to Tipoff - 100 Days of Hilltopper Basketball History: The 100^th season of WKU Hilltopper Basketball will tip off in November. WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique moments and interesting history from Hilltopper Basketball leading up to the start of the 2018-19 season. More: Vote for All-Century Team.

• Asher family, WKU set up 'John Asher Scholarship Fund' for future students: John Asher's family joined with WKU to create a scholarship in his name.
• Images from Women Photojournalists of Washington on display at WKU: Jody Richards Hall on the campus of WKU has a new photojournalism display. An exhibit titled, ‘Women Photojournalists of Washington’ is now on display in the Jody Richards Hall gallery located inside the School of Journalism and Broadcasting. More: Four-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist visits WKU
• Former walk-on Darden making most of his opportunity at WKU: Ta’Corian Darden is certainly feel-good story. The WKU nickelback is a local kid from nearby Russellville. He joined the Hilltopper program as an undersized walk-on, worked hard and earned a scholarship. Then came a starting spot on the team’s defense.

• John Asher Scholarship Fund: Our hearts go out to the family and friends of John Asher (’90), a devoted Hilltopper alumnus, volunteer and parent, who passed away Monday morning. As a lasting memorial to John, his family has established the John Asher Scholarship Fund housed in the College Heights Foundation at WKU. This fund will live on in perpetuity as a tribute to John, his accomplishments, and the impact he had on the lives he touched.
