• Details Announced for Cage the Elephant Special Appearance at Football Home Opener: GRAMMY® AWARD-winning rock band – and Bowling Green natives – Cage the Elephant will play a pregame set ahead of WKU Football's season opener on Saturday (Sept. 8) at 4:30 p.m. on WKU’s South Lawn. Fans with game tickets and WKU students with valid student IDs will be admitted into the appearance free of charge. More: 2018 gameday and tailgating guide; 2018 tailgating map;  Clear Bag Policy
• WKU CCSJ to present 'Social Justice Salons' lecture series: The WKU Center for Citizenship & Social Justice will host the first Fall 2018 lecture of its "Social Justice Salons" series from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 at Downing Student Union, room 2113.
• Dedicated Professional Advising Services Experiencing Changes for the Fall Semester: Professional academic advising services provided by WKU’s Gordon Ford College of Business (GFCB) is not only recognized as a Best Practice by the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business (AACSB) but one of many student-centered resources that has allowed the College to recruit and retain record numbers of students over the past five years. Recent changes to the professional advising structure will only enhance the student-centered focus of the GFCB.

• Women’s basketball: WKU Finalizes 2018-19 Schedule, Roster: After previously announcing its 2018-19 C-USA slate earlier this summer, Lady Topper Basketball has announced its full non-conference schedule under first-year Head Coach Greg Collins that features eight dates inside E.A. Diddle Arena and marquee matches against Power 5 opponents Louisville, Oklahoma, Iowa, Oregon State and Notre Dame.
• Football: Practice Report: WKU Football wrapped up practice on Tuesday afternoon in preparation for the team's first home game this Saturday, September 8 against Maine at 6:30 p.m. at Houchens-Smith Stadium. More: 2018 gameday and tailgating guide; 2018 tailgating map;  Clear Bag Policy
• Football: Seven Hilltoppers Make 53-Man NFL Rosters: NFL teams released their 53-man rosters for this upcoming season, which included seven former Hilltoppers.
• Men’s basketball: Countdown to Tipoff - 100 Days of Hilltopper Basketball History: The 100^th season of WKU Hilltopper Basketball will tip off in November. WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique moments and interesting history from Hilltopper Basketball leading up to the start of the 2018-19 season. More: Vote for All-Century Team.

WKU in the News

• Churchill Downs honors John Asher as thousands pay respects to family: Churchill Downs paid a special tribute Tuesday to longtime spokesman and WKU graduate John Asher, who died last week. The hearse transporting Asher for Tuesday's public visitation at the track carried him for a final lap around the historic oval. His funeral will be held today at the Cathedral of the Assumption.
• Miss Kentucky to serve as spokesperson for Kentucky Proud: WKU graduate and Miss Kentucky 2018, Katie Bouchard, is heading to the Miss America competition with a new job. Bouchard will serve as the official spokesperson for Kentucky Proud, as part of a decades-long partnership between the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) and the Miss Kentucky Organization.
• Hungry, Hungry Hilltoppers: Dietitians key to helping student-athletes succeed: Nutrition in collegiate athletics has evolved. "You need to know when to eat, what to eat, where to eat, and how much to eat," said WKU Dietitian Brandi Breden. Specific diet components hasn't always been a major focus in the lifestyles of student-athletes. Now, in 2018, all of that has changed.
• Cage the Elephant, an all-century team and a Maine squad on a mission all part of WKU’s home opener: If ever there were a time for the Hilltoppers to, “get right,” Saturday is that time. WKU has lost 6 of 7 dating back to last year and is desperate for an evening of celebration instead of demoralization. And the last thing the 2018 team wants to do is let down all the folks at Houchens-Smith Stadium who will be showing up to enjoy a Cage the Elephant concert at 4:30 p.m. and a possible WKU win soon after. As icing on the cake, WKU is also recognizing members of the program’s all-century team all day Saturday as part of a year-long remembrance of 100 seasons of WKU football.
