- After nearly 40 years, Kell in stretch run of involvement with 10K Classic: Dr. Carl Kell won’t be running in the Med Center Health 10K Classic on Saturday (Oct. 13), but he will be crossing the finish line. - WKU Forensics Team wins tournaments in Alabama: WKU's Forensics Team members traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to compete in two tournaments the weekend of October 6-7. WKU captured the team sweepstakes championship at both tournaments; WKU students won 15 individual events; and senior Andrea Ambam was named the most successful competitor of the weekend.
- Forecasting Success: The Evolution of WKU’s Meteorology Program: When severe or “interesting” weather rolls into Bowling Green, you’ll likely find a group of students huddled in the College Heights Atmospheric Observatory for Students (CHAOS) lab. It’s a fitting name for WKU’s on-campus weather lab, especially given the nature of meteorology. “Chaos theory is the number one issue in weather forecasting,” said Josh Durkee, Ph.D., director of White Squirrel Weather.
- Jackson joins WKU Public Radio as 'Morning Edition' host/reporter: WKU Public Radio has named Colin Jackson as its new local host for Morning Edition. He will provide local news, weather and programming updates each weekday during NPR’s national morning show. Jackson will also report for the station.

WKU in the News
- Hilltoppers begin second "half" with trip to Charlotte on Saturday: As WKU re-emerges from its bye week, its mission is clear, although no less harrowing. A 1-4 Hilltoppers’ team can hardly afford any more losses if it a) wants to play in the postseason and b) wants to stay in contention for a Conference USA championship. Mike Sanford’s squad has to decide if it’s on the verge of something special or sobering. “We gotta go in there with the mindset of playing complete, four-quarter football and getting a win,” the second-year WKU coach said. “This conference is wide-open. And I think it’s wide-open for everybody.”
