- Makayle Botts named WKU's 2018 Homecoming queen: Makayle Botts of Glasgow was crowned WKU’s 2018 Homecoming queen on Saturday (Oct. 27). Botts, the daughter of Jimmy and Cathy Botts, is a Public Relations major and Communication Studies minor and was sponsored by Alpha Omicron Pi and Sigma Phi Epsilon. - Dr. Phillip Bale, current Regent, and Kristen Bale, former Regent, make gift to support WKU Center for Leadership Excellence: Kristen T. and Phillip W. Bale of Glasgow, Ky., have made a gift of $250,000, through a combination of an outright gift and a provision in their estate plans, to establish the Kristen T. & Phillip W. Bale Leadership Excellence Fund to benefit the WKU Center for Leadership Excellence.
- WKU recognizes top volunteers at Summit Awards: WKU recognized its top volunteers Thursday night (Oct. 25) at the 18th annual Summit Awards. Distinguished Service Medals to recognize the service of the University’s top volunteers were presented to Dion W. Houchins (’87) of Bowling Green, Ky., Deanna L. Mills (’94) of Woodstock, Ga., and Heather L. Rogers (’89) of Nashville, Tenn. More: Dr. Benny Lile honored; Dr. Nicholas Brake honored
- Annual WKU vs. MTSU Blood Drive Begins Today: WKU and Middle Tennessee State University will continue their annual blood drive competition next week to collect donations for the American Red Cross. In Bowling Green, campus and community members can schedule appointments to donate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today-Wednesday (Oct. 29-31) at the Preston Health and Activities Center. - WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. - Women’s golf: Clarke's Season-Low 72 Leads Lady Tops on Day One at Little Rock: WKU Lady Topper Golf sophomore Megan Clarke shot a season-low 72 on Sunday to open play at the Little Rock Golf Classic, tying her for fourth with two rounds to play. Clarke tallied four birdies – tied for the second-most in the field – with two double bogeys to register her even-par 72 at the 6,076-yard Diamante Country Club. She's just two strokes behind UTEP's Lily Downs for the individual lead.
- Volleyball: All-Around Effort Leads WKU Past UTSA in Four Sets on the Road: WKU Volleyball secured a four-set win at UTSA on Sunday as the Lady Toppers turned in a solid outing across the board. Rachel Anderson and Sophia Cerino combined for 31 kills while three defensive specialists racked up double-digit digs. The 25-19, 25-17, 22-25, 25-23 victory marked the second win of WKU's road trip to the Lone Star State. Next: WKU vs. FIU on Friday night.
- Football: Hilltoppers Fall to FIU Despite Holt's 19 Tackles: James Morgan threw three touchdowns and Florida International defeated WKU 38-17 on Homecoming on Saturday night. Next: WKU at MTSU on Friday night.
- Cross country: Young WKU Distance Squads Wrap Up C-USA Championships: WKU Cross Country wrapped up the 2018 Conference USA Championships Saturday morning. The men's squad finished ninth while the women came in 12th.
- Soccer: WKU Completes Unbeaten Home Season with 2-0 Senior Night Win over Marshall: Freshman Ambere Barnett shined on WKU's Senior Night on Friday evening, scoring a pair of goals to lead the Lady Toppers over Marshall, 2-0, at the WKU Soccer Complex. WKU's four seniors; Sarah Gorham, Nicole Roseland, Hannah Cady and Megan Morris; were honored in a postmatch ceremony that included their friends and family, the WKU coaching staff and support staff, Director of Athletics Todd Stewart and WKU President Dr. Timothy C. Caboni.
- Men’s basketball: General Season Tickets Sold Out: As of Friday afternoon, general season tickets are sold out for the 2018-19 WKU Hilltopper Basketball season. Only an extremely limited number of premium season tickets remain. Fans interested in purchasing those premium seats can call the WKU Ticket Office at 1-800-5-BIG RED. Any remaining limited quantity of single-game tickets will be released at different times throughout the season. A very limited number of single-game tickets for WKU's exhibition games against Campbellsville on Tuesday (Oct. 30) and Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday (Nov. 3) will go on sale at 8 a.m. CT today (Oct. 29). - Women’s basketball: Lady Toppers Host Annual Media Day: Lady Topper Basketball first-year Head Coach Greg Collins, redshirt juniors Alexis Brewer and Dee Givens and junior Whitney Creech represented WKU in its annual on-campus Media Day on Friday afternoon inside E.A. Diddle Arena's Paul Just Media Center.
- Men’s basketball: Countdown to Tipoff - 100 Days of Hilltopper Basketball History: The 100th season of WKU Hilltopper Basketball will tip off in November. WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique moments and interesting history from Hilltopper Basketball leading up to the start of the 2018-19 season. More: 2018-19 Media Guide.
