• Herald wins 17th Pacemaker; Talisman wins 'Best of Show': The College Heights Herald and the Talisman were honored with top awards during the National College Media Convention in Louisville Oct. 25-28.
• 'Dirty Laundry,' documentary by WKU graduates, to be presented Nov. 13: Dirty Laundry, a documentary produced by WKU graduates Bryan Lemon and Conor Lewis that has been presented at 10 international and regional film festivals, will have its Bowling Green premiere at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at WKU’s Van Meter Hall. Admission is free.
• WKU alumni, students, faculty attend annual Kentucky GIS Conference: WKU alumni, students and faculty attended this year’s Kentucky Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Conference Oct. 23-25 in Bowling Green. WKU alumni had a far greater presence than in previous years, illustrating the growing importance of GIS and locational intelligence in the wider Kentucky economy.
• Kentucky Folklife Program Accepting Nominations for 2019 Homer Ledford Award: The Kentucky Folklife Program is accepting nominations for the 2019 Homer Ledford Award, through December 5, 2018.

• Annual WKU vs. MTSU Blood Drive Ends Today: Today is the final day to donate blood to the American Red Cross during the annual blood drive competition between WKU and Middle Tennessee State University. WKU campus and community members can schedule appointments to donate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Preston Health and Activities Center. • WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. • Men’s basketball: Hilltoppers Roll Past Campbellsville 91-66 in Exhibition Victory: WKU shot 56.3 percent from the field and scored 34 points off turnovers Tuesday, rolling to a 91-66 exhibition victory over Campbellsville at E.A. Diddle Arena. Sophomore guard Josh Anderson led all scorers with 22 points to go along with six steals and five assists, and redshirt junior guard/forward Jared Savage added 19 points, six rebounds and four assists in his Hilltopper debut. Next: WKU vs. Kentucky Wesleyan at 2 p.m. Saturday.
• Women’s golf: Clarke Claims First Career Title at Little Rock Golf Classic: Megan Clarke helped the WKU Lady Topper Golf Team accomplish some history Tuesday. The sophomore seized the individual title at the Little Rock Golf Classic, earning the victory by two strokes with a 4-under 212 (72-67-73) tally. Next: WKU returns to action in the spring at Jacksonville's Amelia Island Collegiate on Feb. 18-19 in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
• Athletics: Bone Marrow Registry Event Scheduled to Find Donor for Alyssa Cavanaugh: As former Lady Topper Volleyball All-American Alyssa Cavanaugh continues her battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), WKU Athletics has teamed up with Be The Match and the Cavanaugh family to host a Bone Marrow Donor registry event to find a donor for Alyssa. Three different WKU teams will take the court four times in E.A. Diddle Arena across a four-day span from Thursday-Sunday this week and WKU Athletics will have Be The Match registry tables set up at every entrance for fans to sign up to help find a donor match for Alyssa.
• Football: Ben Holt Named a Burlsworth Trophy Nominee: WKU Football linebacker Ben Holt added to his list of accolades on Tuesday, as he was announced as one of 69 nominees for the 2018 Burlsworth Trophy. The award, which is presented annually by the Springdale (Ark.) Rotary Club, recognizes the most outstanding FBS football player who began his career as a walk-on. • Soccer: Barnett, Gorham, Roseland Earn All-C-USA Accolades: Ambere Barnett, Sarah Gorham and Nicole Roseland have each picked up All-C-USA honors as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon, with Barnett being named to the First Team and All-Freshman Team and Gorham and Roseland each earning a spot on the Second Team.
• Men’s basketball: Countdown to Tipoff - 100 Days of Hilltopper Basketball History: The 100^th season of WKU Hilltopper Basketball will tip off in November. WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique moments and interesting history from Hilltopper Basketball leading up to the start of the 2018-19 season. More: 2018-19 Media Guide.

• WKU community garden lets students grow food and plant new relationships: Most college students go to the grocery store to buy the food they need to cook their meals. Others likely make their way to student dining facilities for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. For some international students, though, growing their own food is part of their culture, and it's something they wouldn't be able to do without a community garden on the WKU campus.
