• Carpenter Foundation awards Kentucky Museum grant for free admission: The Kentucky Museum has received a grant from the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation that will allow the Museum to offer free admission to the public for three years.
• View from the Hill: WKU Store showcases 100 year merchandise: Christmas gifts, graduation gifts, even items commemorating the 100th year of WKU football and basketball—there are lots of reasons to visit the WKU Store. WKU's Amy Bingham has more in the View from the Hill.
• Board of Regents to hold quarterly meeting Dec. 14: The WKU Board of Regents will hold its fourth quarterly meeting on Friday (Dec. 14). The meeting begins at noon in the Martin Regents Room of Jody Richards Hall.
• Folk Studies Faculty Member Organizes Applied Folklore Conference: Dr. Tim Frandy, Assistant Professor in the Department of Folk Studies and Anthropology, worked with University of Wisconsin-Madison folklorists Dr. B. Marcus Cederström and Dr. Thomas DuBois to organize a public and applied folklore conference on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in September. Titled Folklore and the Wisconsin Idea, the conference invited speakers to engage with the myriad ways that folklorists have removed boundaries between universities and communities, and worked with communities for the betterment of those communities.
• US Bank Celebration of the Arts exhibit call for entries: The US Bank Celebration of the Arts exhibit call for entries is ongoing through Feb. 8. Professional and amateur artists age 18 years old or older and who reside within 65 miles of Bowling Green are eligible to enter one piece of original artwork. All works entered are exhibited. Awards include the Kentucky Museum Purchase Award, Best of Show and World’s Greatest Studio Tour Merit Award.

• WKU to recognize fall graduates Dec. 15: WKU’s five academic colleges will recognize more than 1,400 fall graduates in ceremonies on Saturday (Dec. 15).
• WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU's Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

• Men’s basketball: Hilltoppers Rally in Second Half for Road Upset at Arkansas: Saturday proved the Hilltoppers aren't done fighting. WKU Hilltopper Basketball stormed back from an eight-point halftime deficit at Arkansas, holding on for the 78-77 upset road victory at Bud Walton Arena. Next: WKU vs. Troy at 2 p.m. Sunday.
• Women’s basketball: Lady Toppers Use Hot Shooting to Down Bellarmine, 95-57: After a tight game through the first quarter of play, WKU outscored Bellarmine by 32 points over the final 30 minutes and finished with five scorers in double figures in a 95-57 victory inside E.A. Diddle Arena on Saturday afternoon. Next: WKU vs. Ball State at 5 p.m. Sunday.
• Baseball: Countdown to First Pitch - 100 Days of Hilltopper History: As WKU prepares for the 100th Season of Hilltopper Baseball, WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique moments and interesting history from Hilltopper Baseball, leading up to First Pitch at Nick Denes Field on February 15, 2019.

• VeoRide bikes arrive at WKU: A new method for WKU students to get around the Hill arrived last week, with the school officially bringing in a new fleet of VeoRide bicycles for students to use.
• WKU receives $2 million donation from petroleum engineering company: A donation to WKU topping $2 million will allow geology and geography students to dig deeper in their exploration of what’s happening beneath the Earth’s surface.
