- 166 published books and counting, Debbie Dadey loves writing children’s books: WKU graduate Debbie Dadey of Sevierville, Tenn., just published her most recent book, Fairy Chase, as part of her series “Mermaid Tales” published through Simon and Schuster. This is her 166th published book to date and she has two more scheduled to come out in the next two years.
- View from the Hill: WKU graduate drawn to career as book illustrator: A recent WKU graduate is combining her love of animals and art as she marches toward a career as a published illustrator. Emilie Gill of Allensville already has one book under her belt as WKU's Amy Bingham explains in the View from the Hill. - Winter Term Intersession Parking and Transit Changes: Here’s a reminder from WKU Parking & Transportation that intersession services are in effect during the Winter Term through Jan. 19. More: Winter Term parking map
- WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. - Men’s basketball: Tops Can't Hold Large Early Lead in 69-66 Loss at Old Dominion: WKU Hilltopper Basketball opened Saturday's game with a 21-0 run, but Old Dominion battled back and dealt the Hilltoppers a 69-66 road loss. The Hilltoppers (8-7 overall, 1-1 Conference USA) held the Monarchs scoreless for more than seven minutes to open the game, but Old Dominion (11-4, 1-1) trimmed its deficit to seven by halftime and took control with a big run midway through the second half. Next: WKU at Marshall at 6 p.m. Saturday.
- Women’s basketball: Abdelgawad Paces Lady Toppers Past Old Dominion, 75-60: Reigning C-USA Freshman of the Week Meral Abdelgawad had another statement game with 22 points on Saturday afternoon as WKU knocked off conference foe Old Dominion, 75-60, inside E.A. Diddle Arena. Abdelgawad broke the 20-point barrier for the second time in her last three outings, knocking down eight of her 11 shots from the floor while also coming away with five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Next: WKU vs. Marshall at 2 p.m. Saturday.
- Baseball: Countdown to First Pitch - 100 Days of Hilltopper History: As WKU prepares for the 100th Season of Hilltopper Baseball, WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique moments and interesting history from Hilltopper Baseball, leading up to First Pitch at Nick Denes Field on February 15.
