- Kentucky Museum receives grant from Kentucky Local History Trust Fund: The Kentucky Museum has received a grant from the Kentucky Local History Trust Fund for $1,740 to create a new exhibit titled “Out of the Box,” which will bring the Museum’s artifacts into classrooms at WKU. Focused on fostering community discussions and projects related to our heritage and future, the pilot “Out of the Box” exhibit project will be a collaborative model of research, interpretation and public service that will encourage faculty to incorporate the Kentucky Museum into their curricula.
- Kentucky Mesonet at WKU installs station in Webster County: The Kentucky Mesonet at WKU has completed installation of a station in Webster County. The site at Baker Park in Dixon is the 70th operational station in 69 counties following the installation of a station in Pulaski County last fall. The statewide network is the Commonwealth’s official source for weather and climate data.
- WKU student wins Hearst photo competition, qualifies for national championship: WKU student Gabriel Scarlett won the first photojournalism competition of the 2018-2019 Hearst Journalism Awards Program.
- Used Book Sale March 1-3 to benefit SOKY Book Fest: The Southern Kentucky Book Fest Used Book Sale will be held March 1 through March 3 at the Bob Kirby Branch of the Warren County Public Library, 175 Iron Skillet Court, in Bowling Green.
- View from the Hill: Coaching for academic readiness helps WKU students succeed: A unique coaching program is offered at WKU that provides support to online students from their first class all the way through graduation. WKU's Amy Bingham has more on WKU CARES in the View from the Hill.
- Winter Term Intersession Parking and Transit Changes: Here’s a reminder from WKU Parking & Transportation that intersession services are in effect during the Winter Term through Jan. 19. More: Winter Term parking map
- WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU's Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

- Men’s basketball: Late 3-Pointer Dooms Hilltoppers in 70-69 Loss at Marshall: WKU Hilltopper Basketball led for nearly 34 minutes at Marshall on Saturday, but Jannson Williams' 3-pointer with 20 seconds left proved to be the winner for the Herd in a 70-69 victory. Next: WKU vs. FIU at 7 p.m. Thursday at Diddle Arena.
- Women’s basketball: Porter, Givens Guide WKU Past Marshall, 85-55: Dee Givens and Sherry Porter each poured in 20 points and WKU outscored Marshall by a combined 29 points in the second and fourth quarters as the Lady Toppers remained perfect in C-USA play with an 85-55 win over the Thundering Herd on Saturday afternoon inside E.A. Diddle Arena. Next: WKU at FIU at 10 a.m. Thursday.
- Track & Field: Alexandre, Nott Bring Home Individual Titles from Gene Edmonds Open: In WKU Track and Field's first meet of the new year, the Red and White collected three first-place finishes along with 28 top-10 marks on the day at the Gene Edmonds Open. WKU saw a pair of individuals in Oliver Alexandre (600 meter) and Myesha Nott (triple jump) bring home first place finishes in addition to the men's 4x400-meter relay unit. Alexandre's 600-meter crown broke the WKU school record in the event. Next: WKU at Vanderbilt Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
- Baseball: Countdown to First Pitch - 100 Days of Hilltopper History: As WKU prepares for the 100th Season of Hilltopper Baseball, WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique moments and interesting history from Hilltopper Baseball, leading up to First Pitch at Nick Denes Field on February 15.
