Anthropology Faculty Wins Photo Contest

Dr. Ashley Stinnett, assistant professor of Anthropology in the Department of Folk Studies and Anthropology, was one of twelve to win the 2018 American Anthropological Association Photo Image Contest. Her photograph titled “In Focus” is featured in the “The Year in Anthropology” 2019 calendar which was distributed at the annual meeting. The image was submitted to the ‘practice’ category and depicts Dr. Stinnett during her field research with small-scale heritage butchers. Dr. Stinnett is a visual anthropologist and teaches courses on the topic, including an ethnographic film production course.
