CSI Forensics, Computer Science Discoveries, and Under the Sea Discover are a few of the 30 classes bringing 388 students from across the region to WKU’s campus in Bowling Green and the Kentucky Science Center in Louisville.

The 2019 slate of Winter Super Saturdays classes kicks off on Saturday, February 2. Coordinated by The Center for Gifted Studies, the event offers minds-on, hands on learning to high-interest, high-ability students in first through eighth grades.

With classes taking place on the first four Saturdays in February, Super Saturdays promotes students to continue learning while not in school. Children are encouraged to explore and pursue their passions outside the regular classroom while being in a fun and supportive environment with enthusiastic, like-minded peers.

Classes include Amazing Science Lab, an exploration of polymers, chemical reactions, and other fun chemistry experiments; Mysteries of the Human Body, where students explore and solve some of the mysteries surrounding medicine, physiology, and genetics; and Laughing Matters, where students learn acting skills, stage presence, and how to work with other actors while taking part in improvisational theatre.
