Economics to Host Gilligan for BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism Lecture

Providing an idea of what think tanks do and how they work is the subject of an upcoming lecture by Thomas Gilligan of the Hoover Institute to be held on Thursday, February 21 at 3:30 p.m. in Grise Hall’s Guillaume Auditorium. Gilligan’s lecture is sponsored by the BB&T Center of the Study. Of Capitalism and the public is invited.
Gilligan has served as the Ted and Diane Taube Director of the Hoover Institute at Stanford University since 2015. He also is a scholar of economics and political science, a former staff economist at the Council of Economic Advisers in the White House, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Gilligan’s presentation will also emphasize economic ideas and policies that the Stanford’s Hoover Institution has helped to promote over the years.
The purpose of the WKU BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism is to create a comprehensive program of study on the moral foundations of capitalism. It provides resources and learning opportunities to students and the public regarding capitalism’s role in society.
