• How WKU Students Tap Their Inner Entrepreneurs, In and Out of the Classroom: The United States is home to just over 30 million small businesses, which, according to data from the Small Business Administration, make up an incredible 99.9 percent of all U.S. businesses. With numbers like that, it’s likely that WKU students will, at some point, work for — or start — a small business. Thanks to the hands-on experience and resources available at WKU’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, they’ll be prepared. More: WKU consulting project team takes first place in nation
• Kentucky Folklife Program announces recipient of 2018 Homer Ledford Award: The Kentucky Folklife Program, part of WKU's Department of Folk Studies and Anthropology, and collaborating partner the Kentucky Arts Council announce that luthier Glespie Ray Deweese of Bowling Green will be the recipient of the 2018 Homer Ledford Award.
• WKU Model Arab League participates in regional competition: For the fourth consecutive year, WKU’s Model Arab League participated in the Ohio Valley Regional competition Feb. 14-16 at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio. The team represented Somalia this year; in the past, WKU has represented Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and the Comorros. Based on their performance, several members of the team were invited to participate in the national competition in Washington in April, where they will represent Jordan.

• Baseball: Crawford Throws 4 Shutout Innings in Loss to Lipscomb: WKU Baseball fell short of host Lipscomb on Tuesday afternoon, losing to Bisons by a score of 3-1 at Ken Dugan Field. Two unearned runs in the first two frames were the difference for the Hilltoppers, who nearly formulated a comeback in the ninth inning but left the bases loaded. Next: WKU returns home for a four-game series vs. Eastern Illinois this weekend.
• Women’s golf: Clarke Opens Spring with Second Straight Top-10 Finish: WKU Lady Topper Golf's Megan Clarke earned the second top-10 finish of her career Tuesday – and her second straight – by tying for seventh at Jacksonville's Amelia Island Collegiate. The sophomore Clarke shot a 3-over 75 in the final round at the par-72, 6,029-yard Amelia National Golf Club to finish with a 54-hole total of 223 (73-75-75). Next: The Lady Toppers are back in action at North Florida's UNF Collegiate on March 4-5 in Jacksonville, Fla.
