WKU News
- People of WKU – Claire Harralson: WKU Nursing student Claire Harralson participated in the KIIS Study Abroad trip to Tanzania last summer. The trip gave her practical experience in the medical field and the opportunity to experience life in a different culture. "I was able to use Tanzania for my Nursing Practicum and Nursing Internship and it allowed me to gain a whole new perspective on life as well as the medical field. This experience changed my whole life and helped me learn more about myself, to help me become a better equipped nurse; I will carry Tanzania and its culture and people in my heart and soul for the rest of my life. It has given me a new love for nursing and reassured me why I chose to become a nurse in the first place."
- People of WKU – Meredith Bowman: By the time she had begun her junior year, Elizabethtown Marketing major Meredith Bowman had already completed an internship as an Operations Assistant Student Trainee in the Leadership Development Program, Observer Controller/Trainer Academy, and the Review and Evaluation Team with the Headquarters of the U.S. Army Cadet Command in Fort Knox. “I have always had a desire to give back my time and service for those who defend our country and [my] internship provided me that opportunity. I wanted to be a part of something that was bigger than myself, where I could contribute to the overall mission. I learned the importance of clear, concise communication and how to become an effective leader.”
