About 20 WKU students will be participating in alternative spring break trips organized by the Department of Student Activities.

As part of the Capital Experience March 2-8, students will visit the White House, the U.S. Capitol, the Newseum, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, monuments and memorials at the National Mall and various Smithsonian National Museums. The group also will meet with U.S. Rep. Brett Guthrie and will serve at A Wider Circle.

Participants in the Washington, D.C., trip include Randall P. Bogard, Assistant Director of Student Activities; Maria Emanuelson of Nashville, Tennessee, a graduate student in Student Affairs in Higher Education; Kayla Ditto of Elizabethtown, a junior Middle School Science major;

Jillian Kenney of Bowling Green, a freshman International Affairs and German major; Fallon Russell of Franklin, a sophomore English for Secondary Teachers major; Jeron Russell of Shelbyville, a junior Mathematical Economics major; Raina Rodriguez of Glasgow, a sophomore Accounting major; Connor Sturgill of Shelbyville, a sophomore Accounting major; Jayden Thomas of Glasgow, a sophomore Political Science and International Affairs major; and Destiny Woodhouse of Greenbrier, Tennessee, a senior English Literature major.

As part of the Chi-Town Experience March 3-8, students will volunteer at Community Thread, Cradles to Crayons, Pacific Garden Mission and Touched by an Animal. The WKU group also will visit Art institute of Chicago, Garfield Conservatory and Lincoln Park Zoo.

Participants in the Chicago trip include Thomas Atkins of Chattanooga, Tennessee, a graduate student in Student Affairs in Higher Education; Cori Venning of Louisville, a graduate student in Organizational Leadership; Shelby Ackermann of Sparta, a sophomore Biology major; Michelle Arnold of Chicago, Illinois, a freshman Film major; Bremonte Carpenter of Nashville, Tennessee, a sophomore Social Work major; Elizabeth Crider of Paducah, a junior Political Science major; Hannah Martin of Louisville, a sophomore Psychological Sciences major; Hannah Potter of Smyrna, Tennessee, a junior Sport Management major; Dailyn Tichenor of Louisville, a junior Social Work major; and Grant Wright of Louisville, a freshman Marketing major;
