Live Q&A Session with NASA Astronauts to Stream on Campus

Students, teachers, and fans of space have a special opportunity to watch a live Q&A session with astronauts aboard the International Space Station Friday, September 13, at 9:50 a.m. in the Great Room of The Gatton Academy. General Dan Cherry and Mr. Robert Pitchford, experienced aviators, will be present for this special occasion. This event is free to attend and no registration is required.

The National Stem Cell Foundation has been awarded a highly competitive NASA In-flight Education Downlink for astronauts on the International Space Station to answer live the curated questions submitted by National STEM Scholar classrooms nationwide. The questions themselves will be asked from the stage of the Kentucky Science Center Theatre by student representatives from the six Scholar classrooms in Kentucky.

The National STEM Scholar Program, funded by the National Stem Cell Foundation, is directed by Dr. Julia Roberts and Mr. Rico Tyler.

Previous downlinks have been awarded to the NYPD, the World Scout Jamboree, the National Park Service, the Sea Education Association, the Smithsonian Future Pioneers Program, Twin Cities PBS, Facebook and multiple Universities and schools in North America.

The recorded downlink will be available afterwards on NASA TV.
