Providing information on why economic freedom is important and where the U.S. stands in terms of economic freedom relative to the rest of the world is the focus of a lecture next week. Dr. Josh Hall will present,  “Economic Freedom: Trade-offs or Free Lunch?” during a lecture on Tuesday, October 1 at 4:15pm in Grise Hall’s Guillaume Auditorium. 

Dr. Hall is the chair and Professor of the Center for Free Enterprise at West Virginia University. He is a scholar of applied microeconomics, with an emphasis on economic freedom, and state and local public finance and entrepreneurship. He has written more than 50 articles in journals and the co-author of the Economic Freedom of the World Index.

The purpose of the WKU BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism is to create a comprehensive program of study on the moral foundations of capitalism.  It provides resources and learning opportunities to students and the public regarding capitalism’s role in society.
