University Libraries wins area marketing award
- Thursday, November 21st, 2019
Western Kentucky University Libraries received the 2019 Silver Markie Award in the newsletter/magazine/booklet category at the Professional Marketing Association of Bowling Green's (PMA) annual awards event this week. The 2019 Markie Awards honor PMA members who have excelled in their profession and created exceptional work across 12 categories. More than 80 entries were received and awards were given for Silver and Gold.
“We were so thrilled to receive a Markie Award,” said Jennifer Wilson, communications coordinator for the University Libraries. “There are so many talented individuals in this community that make it quite competitive so it really speaks to the caliber of our graphic design student Chris DiMeo and the entire team who helped with the project.”
DiMeo is a senior Advertising major with a concentration in Interactive Design from Bowling Green, Kentucky, and will be graduating this May 2020. “It was a great experience,” said DiMeo. “I enjoyed working on a project of a larger scale that represented the entire library community.”
PMA is made up of over 70 members and conducts monthly professional development and networking lunches about sharing the latest marketing trends.
