Faces in the GFCB: Commencement Edition
Mackenzie Mills, an accounting student from Philpot, Ky., will complete her undergraduate degree this Saturday but will return to the Hill for the spring semester to complete her Master’s degree. She came to WKU in the fall of 2016 just two classes shy of sophomore classification, which encouraged her to pursue the Joint Undergraduate Master Program in Accountancy so she could finish with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in four years.
“Although it was hard work, I passed all class and am graduating early this December,” she said. “I will be job searching and also studying for the CPA exam, which will help prepare me for my career after I graduate. I could not have done all this without the tremendous support from my family, friends, and professors. The road has been rough, but I was able to make it through to the end.”
Mackenzie served this year as the Enactus group’s Chief Operating Officer and was able to help lead the team to national competition this past May.
Almost 150 students will participate in Commencement exercises this Saturday, December 14 at 8 am in E.A. Diddle Arena. Can't make it to campus? Watch live on WKU's Facebook page or on WKYU-PBS television.
