Marketing Student Finds Her Athletics Niche

Faces in the GFCB: Commencement Edition

Blake Mayfield is a marketing student from Jeffersonville, Ind., who fell in love with WKU as soon as she arrived for her campus tour. She immediately got involved on campus by participating on the cheerleading squad her first year on campus. She loves marketing because she loves people and learning what piques others’ interests. A sports nut, she interned with both the WKU Athletic Marketing team and the Bowling Green Hot Rods and has since taken a full-time position with the Hot Rods in their promotions area.

She sees herself continuing in the sports industry long into her career. “I grew up doing multiple sports, so working in sports was a no brainer for me. I love the atmosphere that a ‘game day’ brings and being a part of the action the team and the crowd bring.”

Almost 150 students will participate in Commencement exercises this Saturday, December 14 at 8 am in E.A. Diddle Arena. Can't make it to campus? Watch live on WKU's Facebook page or on WKYU-PBS television.
