WKU Restaurant Group to offer Halal options on campus

Halal food options will be available on campus at WKU beginning this spring semester.
During the program’s initial roll out, six different items will be available for purchase in POD Market at Bates-Runner Hall. Steve Hoyng, Resident District Manager for the WKU Restaurant Group, says these products will fill a void for many of the international students living on WKU’s campus. “These products were recommended to us, however, we welcome input from our international students on campus on what products they might like to see.”
Halal beef brats, beef bacon, turkey bacon, hot links, gyros, and chicken nuggets will be available in the frozen foods section at POD Market when the location opens for the spring semester. Students can purchase these items using Flex dollars, as well as any other declining balance dollars, cash or credit cards.
The WKU Restaurant Group has proudly served students for more than 20 years. As the student population continues to evolve, the WKU Restaurant Group aims to meet the changing needs of those on campus.
