WKU selects 19 for 2020-21 Cherry Presidential Scholarship

WKU has selected 19 students as recipients of the 2020-21 Cherry Presidential Scholarship, the school’s most prestigious academic award.
The scholarship is valued at $16,000 annually and worth $64,000 during a four-year period.
The students were among 58 applicants who were invited to WKU on Feb. 10 for activities that included an interview. In addition to demonstrating outstanding scholastic achievement at the secondary level, applicants submitted personal statements and essays as part of the selection process.
The 2020-21 Cherry Presidential Scholarship recipients are:
- Ethan Baker of Lancaster, a senior at Garrard County High School who plans to major in Biochemistry.
- Ellie Bruner of Vine Grove, a senior at Meade County High School who plans to major in Communication Studies.
- Avagail Chen of Lexington, a senior at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School who plans to major in Psychological Science.
- Molly Cornett of Lexington, a senior at Lafayette Senior High School who is undecided on a major.
- Jack Galloway of Louisville, a senior at Dupont Manual Magnet High School who plans to major in Finance.
- Ryan Gatton of Owensboro, a senior at Apollo High School who plans to major in History.
- Autumn Howard of Hendersonville, Tennessee, a senior at Sumner County Middle College High School who plans to major in Accounting.
- Hannah Jones of Bowling Green, a senior at South Warren High School who plans to major in Biology.
- Andrea Lenoir of Bowling Green, a senior at South Warren High School who plans to major in Biology.
- Jennay Leslie of Garfield, a senior at Breckinridge County High School who plans to major in Communication Disorders.
- Abigail Lucas of Independence, a senior at Simon Kenton High School who plans to major in Biology.
- Kaitlyn Martin of Glasgow, a senior at Barren County High School who plans to major in Film.
- Joseph Merritt of Hendersonville, Tennessee, a senior at Hendersonville High School who plans to major in Psychology.
- Mallory Milliken of Clarksville, Tennessee, a senior at Clarksville High School who plans to major in Nursing.
- Devon Price of Taylorsville, a senior at Bullitt East High School who is undecided on a major.
- Lauren Richardson of Bowling Green, a senior at South Warren High School who is undecided on a major.
- Leah Tabor of Rockfield, a senior at Bowling Green High School who plans to major in Health Care Administration.
- Sebastian Tingle of Somerset, a senior at Pulaski County High School who plans to major in Film.
- Hayden Turley of Winchester, a senior at George Rogers Clark High School who plans to major in Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising.
