EPA Expands List of Disinfectant Products
- T/TAS at WKU
- Thursday, March 19th, 2020
The T/TAS team is continuing to research and share information and resources about coronavirus (COVID-19) as they become available from reliable sources.
Our intent: To prepare for possible community transmission of COVID-19, the most important thing for Head Start programs to do now is plan and prepare. As the global outbreak evolves, programs should prepare for the possibility of community-level outbreaks. Head Start wants to be ready for COVID-19 in our communities.
Today's feature is an update on our March 6, 2020 article announcing the Environmental Protection Agency’s list of qualified products that can be effective against COVID-19. On March 13, 2020, the EPA released an update to that list that contains 200 additional products, including 40 new products that have gone through the agency’s expedited review process.
“During this pandemic, it’s important that people can easily find the information they’re looking for when choosing and using a surface disinfectant,” said EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler. “With this expanded list, EPA is making sure Americans have greater access to as many effective and approved surface disinfectant products as possible and that they have the information at their fingertips to use them effectively.”
In addition, the agency revamped the format of the online list to make it sortable, searchable, and printable, and optimized for mobile devices.
