COVID-19 Update; Faculty and Staff Open Forum Details
- Friday, July 31st, 2020
Dear Faculty and Staff:
WKU has launched a new website, wku.edu/healthyonthehill, to support the reopening preparations underway across the institution. This site will serve as the main repository of both our Big Red Restart and Healthy on the Hill strategies and plans and nicely ties together, in one location, the information formerly on wku.edu/covid19 and wku.edu/restart. I encourage you to take some time to not only familiarize yourself with this helpful site, but use it to help you prepare.
David Oliver shared with you last week updated information on WKU’s testing, contact tracing and quarantine procedures. With the launch of this site, we also launched a new COVID-19 case dashboard that will be updated weekly to include confirmed cases as reported by the Barren River Health Department or reported to WKU’s COVID-19 Response Team. Due to privacy guidelines, the University is prohibited from sharing personal information of any individual who tests positive. Anyone who may have been in contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be personally contacted by public health contact tracers.
Other key features of the site you may find particularly useful in your planning efforts include:
- Fall 2020 health and safety
- Frequently Asked Questions
- Faculty and Staff Resources (including printable signage and how to request PPE and plexiglass barriers)
- Healthy at Work Officers and COVID-19 Response Team
During the last month, we developed a series of videos to support our reopening plans focused on academics, housing, dining, student activities, transit system changes, bookstore operations, mental health, Healthy on the Hill protocols, campus tours and updated procedures at the Preston Center. During the last week, we shared three of these videos - academics, housing and dining - and will continue distributing more in the days ahead. If you haven’t had a chance to view these yet, each are available on the homepage of wku.edu/healthyonthehill. I have also included links below:
