The Potter College of Arts & Letters is hosting the 2020 Fall Festival on Wednesday 28^th from 1 to 4 p.m. (Rain Date set for November 4^th). The PCAL Fall Fest is an annual celebration of the Potter College hosted by the Dean’s Council of Students (DCS). The departments and organizations within the college set up booths showcasing their opportunities and their members’ achievements. Past Fall Fests have successfully connected the PCAL community by encouraging students to talk to people in all departments. The heart of the event is providing fun experiences through activities organized by the DCS and PCAL departments. These qualities have made the Fall Fest a favorite event among PCAL students. “Some of our students’ best memories are made at Fall Fest,” says DCS member Hanna Van Winkle.

This year’s Fall Fest theme is “PCAL Pocus,” inspired by the movie Hocus Pocus and Halloween. The DCS has carefully planned the event following Healthy on the Hill guidelines to ensure the safety of participants. DCS booths will be spaced out in the Colonnades, and the departments’ booths will stand near their home buildings. Attendees will receive a map showing the locations of these booths and the activities available. These activities will be similar to past Fall Fests, allowing students to showcase their talents, serve others, and win prizes. In addition, there will be a virtual talent show screening at 6 p.m. and a t-shirt scavenger contest. Those who wish to start the celebrations early can enter the costume contest until October 23^rd. The DCS encourages students to attend this year’s Fall Fest even though it will look different. Member Kayla Spears expresses, “This year has been hard for everyone, and it has been easy to feel overwhelmed and isolated. Our Fall Festival is a fun, stress-relieving event that is here to remind students that we still have a community to be proud of in the Potter College.”

The WKU English Department will have a “Poetic Fortunes” booth outside the entrance of Cherry Hall. The booth attendant will be a “witch.” Answer their questions, and they will write your fortune in the form of a poem. The department will also host a decorated face-covering contest.
