WKU’s Panhellenic Council has been recognized with the top award presented by the National Panhellenic Conference.
WKU is one of 25 College Panhellenic Associations that received 2019-20 College Panhellenic Excellence Awards from the NPC.
"It is such an honor for our Panhellenic Council and community to receive this award. I'm so proud of the women in our community,” Council President Madison White said. “Even under difficult circumstances, we've all continued to work hard and plan to keep WKU Panhellenic strong."
The awards are granted to College Panhellenic Associations that demonstrate outstanding contributions to all award categories: academic innovation, community impact, judicial procedure, leadership, marketing, programming and recruitment.
“This award is a great reflection of the hard work, excellent programming, and positive Panhellenic relationships that our Council and chapters foster,” said Andrew Rash, coordinator of Greek Affairs. “To be one of only 25 Councils recognized amongst 670 total Councils nationwide is an honor.”
College Panhellenic Associations are student-led cooperatives comprised of all NPC member sororities on a campus. NPC has recognized College Panhellenics with awards for more than 50 years. With NPC member organization chapters located at more than 670 U.S. and Canadian college and universities, only the top-scoring associations are honored.
“At the end of each academic year, it’s important to pause to reflect and acknowledge the outstanding contributions made by our College Panhellenics that benefit the sorority community, the campus and the community at-large,” said Linda Henderson, College Panhellenics Committee chairman. “That reflection was even more important for 2019-20. Despite the challenges presented by COVID-19, College Panhellenics continued their focus on high achievement and community support, regardless of whether Panhellenic operations were managed in person or virtually.”
