Kentucky Museum opens 2021 Side by Side Virtual Exhibit

Side by Side - Bowling Green is a free hands-on learning art experience for school age children with special needs in Bowling Green, Warren and surrounding counties. Side by Side Bowling Green is made possible by a partnership with Arts for All Kentucky.

For the 2020 classes families received art supplies for the students to complete three different art projects and children participated from their homes utilizing Youtube videos and artist/instructor Zoom sessions. Collaborations with area artists using artwork that the children completed during the classes was structured so that artists worked from their studios. These activities concluded with a virtual exhibit hosted by the Kentucky Museum which includes students’ work, collaborative pieces between students and artists and works by the professional artists.

Side by Side, a statewide program, was created by Arts for All Kentucky  in partnership with the Kentucky Museum. It is designed to offer a creative outlet for students, reinforce inclusiveness and positive self-image, and highlight the importance of arts education in the development of our young people.
