WKU Global Learning & International Affairs is excited to co-sponsor a Kentucky-wide 2021 Virtual Study Abroad Fair during the week of Feb. 1-5.
While it still seems impossible to travel, planning a study abroad program can never begin too early. The Virtual Study Abroad Fair will allow students to learn about several programs that will take them far beyond The Hill—programs with varying lengths, locations, modalities and fields of study inside and outside the U.S. By tuning in for specialized sessions featuring WKU study abroad partners and WKU’s support services, students can scope out options and resources, as well as register for scholarships and prizes.
Information will be available on a variety of study abroad options including in-person short-term, summer, semester programs and virtual opportunities for future terms. Learn about programs offered by WKU Faculty, the Cooperative Center for Study Abroad (CCSA), the Kentucky Institute for International Studies (KIIS), the National Student Exchange, Harlaxton College, WKU Exchanges and other partner programs. Students can speak to WKU Study Abroad Advisors, WKU study abroad alumni, and other program representatives about study abroad, international research, service-learning, and opportunities to study around the USA. Students are eligible to participate in WKU faculty-led study abroad/USA programs if they are in good standing with the university and maintain a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher.
This event is open to all current and prospective WKU students. Participating students will have the chance to win giveaways, including scholarships toward a future study abroad program or passport application.
The Virtual Fair is the first portion of The Global Learning Forum, an ongoing initiative presented by WKU Global Learning & International Affairs that will provide several methods for virtual and in-person global learning experiences throughout the next year.
Students should register in advance for the Fair to receive the session weblinks at https://www.wku.edu/studyabroad/virtualfair/.
Students are also encouraged to follow @wkuglobal on Instagram, GLIA’s new media platform that will center on storytelling and offering global experiences to students at WKU and far beyond Bowling Green.
