Baby Food May Contain Toxic Metals

On Febuary 4, 2020, a US House of Representatives Subcommittee, the Economic and Consumer Policy, Committee on Oversight and Reform, published a report of their investigation into the presence of heavy metals in popular baby foods, including some organic ones. The investigation revealed that the baby foods tested were contaminated with substances such as arsenic, lead, cadmium, which were found at much higher levels than that even allowed in bottled water.

Of particular concern is the harmful impact of heavy metals on brain development of infants and toddlers. Exposure to heavy metals is often linked to behavioral impairments, brain damage, and even death.
