SACSCOC Fifth-Year Interim Report
- Tuesday, July 6th, 2021
Dear Colleagues:
I am pleased to announce that the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has notified WKU of the successful completion of our Fifth-Year Interim Report. This result means that WKU successfully demonstrated compliance with all standards, and we are well-positioned for the full reaffirmation process in 2025. It is particularly noteworthy that WKU’s Fifth-Year Interim Report was returned with no issues of concern raised or additional reporting requested.
In each reaffirmation cycle, colleges and universities also develop a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to elevate a particular area of the University’s operations. SACSCOC’s review committee notified WKU that Evidence and Argument, our QEP initiated in 2015, has also been successfully completed.
SACSCOC reaffirmation is essential, and I am grateful for the outstanding work of Rob Hale, Assoc. Provost for Faculty & Academic Experience and WKU’s SACSCOC Liaison, Former Provost Cheryl Stevens and the entire committee responsible for the development of the report:
Bryson Davis – Director of Student Financial Assistance
Tony Glisson – Former Director of Human Resources
Jennifer Hammonds – University Registrar
Christopher Jensen – Asst. Vice President for Advising and Career Development
Danita Kelley – Assoc. Dean for the College of Health and Human Services
Molly Kerby – Asst. Provost for Institutional Effectiveness and Co-Chief Diversity Officer (QEP Co-Coordinator)
Beth Laves – Assoc. Vice Provost for Extended Learning and Outreach
David Oliver – Director of Environmental Health and Safety
Rheanna Plemons – Former Special Assistant to the Provost
Bryan Russell – Chief Facilities Officer
Amber Scott Belt – Assistant to the Provost
Stacy Wilson – Director of Engineering and Applied Sciences (QEP Co-Coordinator)
I also want to thank Tuesdi Helbig, Tonya Johnson and Jessica Steeenbergen for their significant contributions to the interim report.
WKU’s reaffirmation success speaks to the strength of our strategic plan and the work of every member of our campus community to serve students and advance our mission. Teams across campus will now begin work on full reaccreditation review which will take place in 2025.
GO TOPS!
