WKU hosts high school leadership conference

On Friday, Sept. 17, Western Kentucky University’s Student Activities Leadership and Volunteerism Office hosted the 2021 High School Leadership Conference for high school students from across Kentucky. The conference brought 222 to WKU’s campus for a day of learning that included campus tours, information sessions and student panels.
Students learned about a variety of topics including financial literacy, public speaking, diversity and inclusion, mental health, student involvement and team building. Participants heard from a number of campus representatives, including WKU President Timothy C. Caboni and Dean of Students Dr. Martha Sales.
Attendees represented 17 high schools from across Kentucky, including Allen County-Scottsville High School, Apollo High School, Caverna High School, Garrard County High School, Glasgow High School, Hopkins County Central High School, Lexington Catholic High School, Madison Central High School, Metcalfe County High School, Pulaski County High School, Russellville High School, South Warren High School, Southwestern High School, Trinity High School, Union County High School, Warren Central High School, Warren East High School and Webster County High School.
