On Monday, October 11th, 2021, the Potter College of Arts and Letters (PCAL) and the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences (CEBS) hosted a Hispanic VIP Day for Hispanic students from Warren Central High School, GEO International High School, and Greenwood High School.

The event began in Downing Student Union, where WKU faculty, staff, and students presented information to the visiting students. Admissions discussed the application process and the types of scholarships available to incoming students. Additionally, students learned about the Intercultural Student Engagement Center (ISEC) and the Hilltopper Organization of Latin American Students (HOLAS), two programs that would be beneficial to Hispanic students if they decide to attend WKU. They were also able to visit tables around the room and explore various programs within PCAL and CEBS.

After listening to and participating in these presentations, the students were provided lunch at Fresh Food Company with current WKU students and staff. This opportunity allowed them to experience some of what life is like as a WKU student and to get to know the WKU community on a more personal level. After lunch, students were given a tour of campus by TOP Guides and Spirit Masters.

This event was a great opportunity for Hispanic students from the Bowling Green area to learn about all that WKU has to offer and how WKU can help them accomplish their goals.
