Twenty-eight students are candidates for Homecoming 2017 queen at WKU.

WKU will play Charlotte in the Homecoming football game on Oct. 14. At halftime, the Homecoming Court, styled by Belk, will be introduced, followed by the crowning of the queen. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.

Candidates will participate in numerous activities during Homecoming Week including a fall social on Oct. 9, an interview on Oct. 10, a volunteer experience and banquet celebration on Oct. 11, Bowling Green Chili and Cheese Luncheon and Pep Rally on Oct. 12 and the Homecoming Parade and Big Red’s Roar on Oct. 13. WKU students will cast their votes for queen in online balloting on Oct. 9.

• Morgan Askins of Rockfield, the daughter of Brent and Jeanette Askins. She is an Agriculture major and Entrepreneurship minor and is sponsored by Sigma Alpha.
• Krysten Barlow of Taylorsville, the daughter of Steve and Michelle Barlow. She is a Marketing Sales major and Economics minor and is sponsored by Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Nu.
• Casey Birge of Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of Scott and Susan Birge. She is a Business Administration major and Organizational Leadership minor and is sponsored by Kappa Delta and Kappa Sigma.
