What is the foreign service? What does a foreign service officer do on the ground? How can I find out if the foreign service is for me? What scholarships are available to pursue graduate school in the foreign service?
Mr. Michael McClellan, WKU Diplomat-in-Residence, and Mr. Cory Dodds, OSD coordinator of nationally competitive opportunities, will answer these questions and more on April 17. At 7pm, Mr. McClellan will discuss a day in the life of a foreign service officer, what the U.S. Department of State is looking for in its FSO candidates, and how to prepare for a career in the foreign service.
At 7:30pm, Mr. Dodds will discuss a number of opporunities to intern with the U.S. Department of State and the foreign service, undergraduate scholarship opportunities, and fellowships to fund graduate school in the foreign service.
