Five WKU students have been awarded $20,000 David L. Boren Scholarships to fund intensive language study in the US and abroad during the 2020-2021 academic year. All five are students in the Chinese Flagship Program at WKU.

In the 2018-19 academic year, a record number of WKU students and alumni applied for national scholarships. They earned more than $800,000 in funding for graduate school, language study, public service, and study abroad.

Two WKU students were awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship for study abroad programs in fall 2019. They were selected from over 3,000 applications submitted during the fall 2019 and academic year 2019-2020 cycle.

Three WKU students have been named Goldwater Scholars in the 2019 competition. Megan Dillingham of Bowling Green, Alexander Stewart of Clearfield, and Sydney Wheeler of Scottsville received Barry M. Goldwater Scholarships.
