Jackson Hite leads study abroad scholarship advising (Gilman, Fund for Education Abroad, Freeman-ASIA, Phi Kappa Phi, and more) in the Office of Scholar Development. He brings experience working with prospective study abroad students and international students at WKU, and he has experience teaching and coaching in the U.S. and abroad.
Jackson earned a B.A. in Advertising & Public Relations as well as a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Administration from WKU, focusing on applications in Arts Administration and Community Development. As a senior on the Hill, Jackson became a Global Learning Ambassador for WKU Global, opening a world of opportunity for profound shifts in perspectives, education, and professional development.
These shifts were also sparked by the Office of Scholar Development when he received a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship to study abroad in Italy. After returning from his first study abroad, he longed for a more engaging and diverse experience. He found this and much more as a student at Chiang Mai University and an English teacher at a Buddhist monk university in Thailand. Upon his return, he traveled to India on behalf of WKU Global to recruit high school students to become Hilltoppers, share his experiences, and guide students on life at WKU. He then earned a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship teaching English and International Relations at Goce Delčev University in Štip, North Macedonia.
Jackson is a native of Scottsville, Kentucky. He became passionate about education and youth development by watching his dedicated mother, a force in education. He is also a huge music nerd, deep diving into artists like Fleetwood Mac, SZA, The Midnight, Tems, & Led Zeppelin. He also loves volleyball, running, hiking, trying new foods, exploring new places, and acting like he is an incredible singer.
