Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement Staff

A native of Paducah, Ky., and a graduate of Paducah St. Mary High School, Johnston played one year of college baseball at Olney Central College, a junior college in Olney, Ill., before transferring to WKU to complete his degree. Johnston graduated from WKU in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a master's degree in Sports Administration in May 2021.

As an undergraduate, Brian was a member of Phi Delta Theta and served as a student manager for the WKU Baseball team from 2019-2020. During his postgraduate years, he worked as a graduate assistant for the School of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport, and he also gained experience as a ticket sales representative for IMG/Learfield, contracted through Western Kentucky University.

Brian joined the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement staff in June 2024, and he is thrilled to return to the Hill. He is excited to be back on the campus where his college journey began, and he looks forward to contributing to this exceptional team and community.
