Stephen R. Fogle graduated as cum laude from Western Kentucky University in May 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. Upon graduation, he was commissioned Second Lieutenant Field Artillery in the United States Army through the Reserve Officer Training Corps. During his time as a Cadet, he was an active member of the Color Guard, Scabbard and Blade, and Pershing Rifles. He also served as Cadet Battalion Commander and was recognized as a Superior Cadet three times and a Distinguished Military Graduate.

He was initially stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky from May to July 1976, where he served as a Training Officer for ROTC Basic Camp. He then attended the Field Artillery Officer’s Basic Course from August to December 1976. In January 1977, he became the Forward Observer for the 1/20th Field Artillery, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado. In March 1978, he was assigned as the Safety Officer and Assistant Evaluator for the Operational Testing and Evaluation Agency in Fort Carson, Colorado. He assumed the duties as the Executive Officer of C Battery, 1/20th Field Artillery Unit in January 1979. He later became the Executive Officer for the D Battery, 26th Field Artillery, 25th Infantry Division in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. In August of 1980, he became the Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Targeting Officer and Assistant Operations Officer. He took command in January 1981 of the Correctional Custody Facility, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. His varied assignments during his active-duty time demonstrate his unique ability to adapt and change while still achieving superior results.

Mr. Fogle resigned his commission in 1982 to attend law school. He went on to get his J.D. at Baylor University Law School in 1986. Mr. Fogle is a partner of the Jackson Walker L.L.P. law firm in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Fogle is a graduate of Leadership San Antonio, a Life Fellow of both the Texas and San Antonio Bar Foundations, and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Returning Heroes Home, Inc. which supports the Warrior and Family Support Center in providing a home away from home and a place of healing for those recovering from injuries and wounds sustained in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was also on the board of directors of the National Alumni Association for Western Kentucky University (2012-2015). Mr. Fogle was named as a San Antonio “Best Lawyer” by S.A. Scene in 2009 and again in 2012. Based on his trial experience and standing in the community, Mr. Fogle was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates in 2003, and he has earned an “AV” rating from his peers in the Martindale-Hubble legal directory for many years.
