WKU Sisterhood Spotlight: Julie Hinson ('90)
Hometown: Owensboro, KY
Current City: Louisville, KY
When did you attend WKU? 1982-1987, lacked 3 credit hours so finished one class in 1989.
What activities were you involved in as a student? AOII and I worked part time in the drive through at Burger King on 31W.
Do you have a favorite memory from the Hill? Many, it would require a novel to document the fun I had. WKU is the best four years
of my 60 years. I made life-time friends that mean the world to me and see frequently.
I have many more WKU Alumni friends of a variety of ages, they all speak very highly
of WKU. My husband, Mike, once told me that he had never heard anyone say anything
negative about their experience at WKU. I explained to Mike that it is the company
I keep. My mom taught me that. I am reminded of that daily. I can’t imagine not keeping
the WKU company that I keep. I am a true Hilltopper, through and through.
If you work, what do you do? President & CEO of Advanced Lifeline Services, Inc. (retiring at the end of 2024)
and President of Hinson Consulting, LLC.
Tell us about your family: I have one child, Mike – my husband, and two four-legged blue merle Australian Shepherds,
Bitsy (toy) and Cracker (miniature).
Do you have any passion projects, other than WKU Sisterhood? Woman’s Club of Louisville, LifeWorks@WKU, Kentucky Harvest, Metropolitan Republican
Woman’s Club, and WKU Greater Louisville Alumni Chapter. My preference is anything
WKU.
Fun fact about yourself: I can gator dance on my stomach and back, or at least I could when I was 19.
