WKU Sisterhood Spotlight: Connie Pittman
I was born and raised in Mexico City, attended the National University UNAM, and graduated with a Business Administration degree.
I met my future husband while attending summer school at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Ky. When school ended, I went home to Mexico City. Later that year, he flew to Mexico to meet my family and ask permission to marry me. He was already teaching at Western Kentucky University.
We got married in Mexico City and started our life in Bowling Green. We have two children who graduated from WKU. One is a Dentist and the other is a Speech Therapist. I have four grandchildren, two presently attending WKU who are a freshman and a junior.
I like to be part of the community and serve at local nonprofits such as WKU Sisterhood, Women’s Fund, Realtors Hope for Hunger, and Lost River Park. I volunteer at SKYPAC and the Historic Rail Park. I have served in the past as a Spanish Interpreter for the Court System.
A long time ago, the famous pianist Van Cliburn had a concert at Van Meter Hall that my husband and I attended. I have seen him perform at Bellas Artes, the fine arts theater in Mexico City when I was student at the University, and it was a treat to see him again in Bowling Green at WKU.
I am a realtor broker and enjoy helping people find a dream home. I love my work, and I am extremely fortunate to live in this community and have a network of friends and associates to help me achieve my goal to provide the best service to my clients so they will be happy and satisfied with their choice of realtor.
I love plants and flowers. I am a member of a garden club and a Flower Show Judge.
