The CEBS International Quiz Bowl will be held November 11 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. as part of the campus-wide celebration of International Education Week. Sixteen teams of four people will compete to win mini iPads. We need volunteers (both faculty and students) to help make this event a success. We need four judges, four moderators, and four score-keepers. If you or your students would like to sign up to help, please contact Kay Gandy (kay.gandy@wku.edu). We would also like for departments or the College to create a team to compete in the Quiz Bowl. Registration forms will come out next week.
In addition, CEBS is sponsoring a giant floor map of South America during the week of November 12-16. The map will be at the WKU Research Center and will be available for community member use from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Elizabeth Riggs, classroom teacher at McNeil Elementary, will lead map activities each day. We need at least two students each day to help Liz monitor participants and help with the activities. Liz has also agreed to lead activities on Monday, November 18 and Wednesday, November 20 for local school children between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. This would be a great opportunity for your students to earn PD hours or service hours. Please have any student who wishes to volunteer to contact Kay Gandy (kay.gandy@wku.edu).
Thank you for your support to help make International Education Week a success. You can go to the following website to find out more great activities happening during the week: http://www.wku.edu/oip/iew.php
