Techniques represented in Even Coverlets Get the Blues range from overshot, double weave, and tied-biederwand to hooked rug making.

This exhibit tells the stories of freshmen year from participants in a student success intiative, WKU Freshmen Guided Pathway (FGP). This cohort of first-time, full-time students who graduated from one of five high schools in Warren County represent the typical WKU freshman in terms of academic achievement prior to admission and their demographic makeup.

WKU’s Cultural Enhancement Series and the Kentucky Museum host award winning artist Patrick Dougherty in October 2018 on WKU’s campus in Bowling Green, Ky. Dougherty created Highbrow, a sculpture made from intertwined tree saplings, on the Museum's front lawn.

In 2019, the Kentucky Building celebrates 80 years of showcasing South Central Kentucky’s unique culture and heritage. In honor of this milestone, the Kentucky Museum presents Out of the Box, an exhibition focused on fostering multidisciplinary discussions about our collective heritage while shining new light on the relevance of our museum in the 21st century. 

Using local historical artifacts, photos, and records, we invite you to discover how every object tells multiple stories. Themes and stories are curated in partnership with faculty from 9 WKU departments

Paoli Peaks Snowboarding and Skiing

Cost: $55 Student | $65 Guest *includes lift ticket 

Cost: $70 Studnet | $80 Guest *Includes Lift Ticket and Skii or Snowboard Rental 

Depart Time: Friday February 7th, 11:00 am

Return Time: Friday February 7th 11:00 pm 

Drive Time: ~2 hours and 30 minutes

Pre-Trip Meeting: Tuesday, February 4th @ 8:00 pm

Included: Transportation via van, lift tickets, and a rockin’ time!!! 

Not Included: Any & all cold weather gear needed for shredding the slopes! 

Located in southern Indiana, Paoli Peaks offers snowboarding, skiing, and snow tubing! Paoli Peaks has terrain for all skill levels! Paoli Peaks is built on a natural hill at a 900 ft. elevation with a vertical drop of 300 ft. Currently, it has 15 runs and many chairlifts and tows We’ll depart WKU early, drive to Paoli Peaks, get checked in, and start shredding! Included in this trip is transportation and lift tickets. Participants will be responsible for equipment rentals and snow passes at Paoli Peaks.

Day 1:

  1. Depart WKU in the afternnon
    1. Drive to Paoli Peaks
    2. Shred the peaks
    3. Eat dinner! 
    4. Return back to WKU

Responding to Bosnia: An Exhibition by Yvonne Petkus and James Kenney is on display through April 4 at the Downing Museum.

An opening reception and gallery talk will begin at 6 p.m. Feb. 7 and will feature foods unique to Bosnia and Herzegovina, courtesy of WKU’s Office of Global Learning and International Affairs.
