Hello Everyone –
The Suzanne Vitale Clinical Education Complex at WKU will be hosting an annual Special Needs Summit. The Special Needs Summit will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Knicely Center. The target audience consists of parents, caregivers, family members, professionals, staff, and students. The Summit’s theme is “The Difference Is You”. The goal of the conference is to connect members of the special needs community with one another, provide valuable information and strategies on working with individuals and children with special needs, and provide information on community resources and services. We have some AMAZING speakers coming to share their expertise with you!
The topics and speakers are as follows:
Keynote speaker: Amalia Starr, A Mother and Son's 40 year Journey
Session speaker: Robin Abbott, Get into your child's head through their ears; learn how the auditory and vestibular senses form the foundation for learning and our interaction with the world.
Session speaker: Jessica Bennett, Youth Nutrition and Healthy Eating Behavior Change
Session speaker: Bailey Robinson, Implementing Function Based Intervention to Decrease Challenging

We are offering 4 Continued Education Credits for professionals throughout different disciplines, which include Early Childhood, Social Work, First Steps, Nursing, SLP's, Occupational Therapy, EILA (Education), and Psychology pending approval.
