Political polarization is to be expected in any vibrant democratic society where freedom of expression and belief is respected. That this not spill into violence, however, is something that institutions must ensure. Institutions are those practices and organizations that have become entrenched in given circumstances or contexts. Constitutionalism and the Rule of Law are perhaps the most important legal institution that ensures people with radically different beliefs can live together harmoniously.
Join John Sunnygard as he talks to Belinder Odek and Martin van Staden from Bridge Africa about their work and experience with political unrest in Africa and their perspective on the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.
