New Calendar Feature - Grid View
- Webmasters
- Monday, October 15th, 2012
There is a new calendar feature, a month grid view. You can set your calendar to show this view by default when month view is selected. Users are also able to switch between a list and a grid view - but this option can be turned on/off.
To see an example of the grid calendar, please visit the funnymonkeys calendar.
To access the settings for your calendar...
- Login to OU Addons
- Click on "Calendars"
- In the list of calendars you have access to, click the edit button on the far right of the row for the calendar you want to edit.
The new list of options include:
Calendar Options:
Default View - When people first visit your calendar, this is the view they will see.
Show Month View As - Can choose whether month view shows a list of events or a calendar grid.
Show Month View Options - Allows front-end users, when in month view, to switch the event listing between a list and grid view.
Month Grid View Options:
Show Time in Titles - Choose whether or not times are displayed
Trim Titles - when set to yes, the calendar will attempt to keep titles on one line. Due to different pixel widths of letters, this is not perfect, but should usually work.
Title Length - when "Trim Titles" is set to yes, the title length will be the length of the title
Limit Events per Day - use this to limit the number of events that show in a single day
If Events Limit (above) is exceeded - if the "limit events per day" is exceeded, this option determines whether or not to show a "View more events" link that links to the day view.
Show Event Info on Hover - this option, when set to yes, will display a tooltip with the event information when the user hovers their mouse over the event. The tooltip will display all event information except for description. If a description has been filled out for the event, the user will see the text "Click event for more info" at the bottom of the tooltip.
As always, email webmaster@wku.edu if you run into any problems.
