Changes to Form Assets
- Monday, July 19th, 2021
Changes have been made to Form Assets to make them more accessible. This includes a change to Radio Buttons and Checkboxes to meet the WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility guideline regarding Grouping Elements. No visual changes were made to existing forms, this change is behind the scenes only. It adds additional code for screen reader technology, letting them know that radio buttons and checkboxes are grouped together.
To ensure that your forms use the latest accessibility standards we recommend republishing any form assets.
In addition to the change behind the scenes, improvements were made to the Advanced Form Options. Radio Buttons and Checkboxes now have the advanced option fieldset_display=true;. This option wraps Radio Buttons and Checkboxes in a dotted-outline fieldset of their own.
Multiple column layout forms are now possible using the new row_start=true; and row_end=true; options. Combine these with the existing addclass=myclass; option on elements to add column classes. Please note: this is an advanced edit and requires knowledge of Bootstrap, HTML classes, and 12 column grid systems to implement.
For more information about the changes and other options visit the updated Advanced Form Options in the Omni CMS example site.
