Advanced Materials Institute and Thermal Analysis Labs

The Advanced Materials Institute (AMI) is a laboratory at Western Kentucky University that specializes in the analysis and characterization of a variety of materials. Faculty at WKU frequently utilize the instrumentation at our institute for their research purposes. Various companies also enlist our help in the analysis and characterization of their products.

The Thermal Analysis Lab (TAL) provides access to advanced scientific instrumentation for the measurement of the thermal properties of materials in support of the educational, research and public service missions of WKU for faculty and students requiring thermal analysis data. AMI also actively conducts third party thermal analysis of samples for local, regional and national businesses, and governmental agencies.
