Biography

Dr. Mansour is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Kentucky University, where he specializes in architectural engineering with a particular focus on the sustainable design of building systems. His academic endeavors encompass teaching, research, and scholarly contributions in architectural engineering, building construction, and sustainable building design.

Dr. Mansour’s research is rooted in the evaluation of high-performance buildings through Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE), an interdisciplinary approach that bridges engineering, architecture, and environmental science. Specifically, his work examines Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), with an emphasis on understanding and aligning occupant perceptions, spatial experiences, and actual building performance metrics. This line of inquiry is essential for advancing sustainable design paradigms and ensuring that high-performance buildings achieve their intended environmental, economic, and social outcomes.

In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Mansour actively contributes to the broader discourse on sustainability and design through publications, conference presentations, and collaborative projects. His current research focuses on the relationships between human interactions with built environments and the measurable parameters of sustainability, aiming to provide actionable insights for architects, engineers, and policymakers.
