First Baptist Church has invited us to their Super Bowl party. Please take a look at the flyer, below. If you plan on attending, make sure you take a soup or finger food with you to contribute (as it asks per the flyer). This is a great opportunity for you to meet a LOT of people in the Deaf community, have fun…and yes, get in a DCE.

A group of us will be getting together to watch the WKU - Old Dominion Monarchs game. We even have some free tickets for the Deaf, the first 20 will get in free!

We will all be meeting at Diddle arena's front entrance, the one with the basketball statue.

This interactive, hands-on workshop is an introduction to better understanding the Deaf/Blind community and how to work with this group of individuals.

The cost is $10 for the all day workshop, lunch and snacks.

Please note, there is limited space for this workshop. Registration is first-come, first-serve, so have it and your fee turned into Ashley Chance Fox or the ASL Lab by Friday, February 12 @ 3pm.

About the Workshop Leader

Marilyn Trader is the Southeastern Regional Representative of the Helen Keller National Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. She holds a B.S. in psychology and sociology from Illinois State University and master’s degree in social work from Gallaudet University. Marilyn is passionate about educating and providing Deaf/Blind consumers with the tools they need to break barriers, escape isolation, and for some, to gain employment. She is also a certified interpreter.
