Eve Main is a Professor in the School of Nursing at WKU. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1984 from WKU, her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner concentration in 1997 from Spalding University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Kentucky in 2010.
Dr. Main's teaching experience began as a part-time instructor in the graduate program at WKU in 2001 and she began teaching full-time in 2002. She currently teaches Primary Care of the Adult/Child, Evidence Based Practice, Technology in Healthcare, and Biostatistics. She continues to work part-time as an ARNP in the community.
Prior to teaching, Dr. Main was employed as an ARNP for five years and an RN for 17 years. She has clinical experience in primary care, critical care, and the emergency department. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner.
Dr. Main is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Midwives, Southern Nursing Research Society, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, Sigma Theta Tau- Kappa Theta Chapter, and the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Her research interests include preventive health care, vulnerable populations, and evidence based practice. She is an associate member of the graduate faculty.
