• Richardson First WKU Student Selected as a Rangel Fellow: Deven Richardson of Bowling Green has been selected as a 2019 Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellow.  He is one of 30 fellows selected nationwide and the first WKU student to earn this honor.
• WKU Public Radio Weekday Newscast Schedule: Tune into WKU Public Radio for national and international news from NPR, and local newscasts every half hour during Morning Edition (4-9 a.m. Central), and All Things Considered (3-6 p.m. Central), as well as local news features and interviews produced by the WKU news staff. WKU's Public Radio can be heard on WKYU-FM (88.9) in Bowling Green/Glasgow; WDCL-FM (89.7) in Somerset/Campbellsville; WKPB-FM (88.9) in Henderson/Owensboro; WKUE-FM (90.9) in Elizabethtown/Bardstown; and online at http://www.wkyufm.org/

WKU Sports

• Men’s basketball: Hilltoppers Use Free-Throw Line to Defeat Tennessee State 88-74: WKU Hilltopper Basketball made a living at the free-throw line Saturday night, netting 36 of 45 shots from the charity stripe in an 88-74 victory over Tennessee State at E.A. Diddle Arena. On the night the Hilltoppers (4-3) honored their All-Century Team, they also registered the 600th all-time win in Diddle Arena in front of 6,071 fans. Next: WKU at Missouri State at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
• Women’s basketball: Lady Toppers Battle Past Trojans in 68-56 Road Victory: Raneem Elgedawy turned in a double-double of 17 points and 21 rebounds and WKU outscored Little Rock 26-18 in the final quarter of play as the Lady Toppers picked up their first true road win of the season in a 68-56 decision inside the Jack Stephens Center. Next: WKU vs. Bellarmine at 2 p.m. Saturday.
• Track & Field: WKU Track & Field Racks Up 17 Top-10 Finishes at Vanderbilt Indoor Opener: Seventeen top-10 finishes highlighted the WKU Track & Field season-opening meet at the Vanderbilt Indoor Opener on Saturday. The outing in Music City marked the sixth-straight season that the Red and White opened the indoor campaign at a Vanderbilt-hosted outing. Saturday's opener saw 21 teams represented inside the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility. Next: WKU Track & Field will be back in action again on Jan. 12 at the Purdue-hosted Gene Edmonds Open.
• Baseball: Countdown to First Pitch - 100 Days of Hilltopper History: As WKU prepares for the 100th Season of Hilltopper Baseball, WKU Athletics is treating fans to unique moments and interesting history from Hilltopper Baseball, leading up to First Pitch at Nick Denes Field on February 15, 2019.

• WKU Professor: Universal Declaration of Human Rights Still Resonates 70 Years Later: A Kentucky Professor who researches ethnic cleansing says the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" has served as a road map for the rights of all human beings since it was ratified by the United Nations General Council in 1948.  Dr. Sam McFarland, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at WKU said the declaration continues to serve as an aspirational document 70 years later.
